What to Expect

Thank you for visiting the North Hills Christian Church website. This page is to help you identify what to expect when you walk through our doors. We know if can be challenging looking for a church and we hope this helps you on your search.

Of course we encourage you to read over our Statement of Faith and Our Values to get an idea of what we believe. North Hills meets in an industrial complex across from Kaiser Permanente. Our neighbors in the complex include an indoor soccer facility and a cross-fit gym. North Hills first moved into the building in August of 2020. Though there has been lots of wonderful renovations you may still see signs of a work in progress around the building.

When you arrive you will be greeted by a member of North Hills who will gladly point out our children's classroom (0-11), restrooms, and help you find a welcome packet with more information about North Hills. In the foyer of the church you will likely find members of the congregation chatting or signing up for an upcoming event who will likely also greet you. Please feel free to enjoy the self-serve beverages (coffee, tea, water) as well.

Sunday service begins at 10am with a welcoming song and announcements regarding upcoming events and ministries. A music leader will then lead us in a few thoughtfully chosen songs that teach biblical truths (videos below to help you get an idea of the music at North Hills). The music and weekly scripture reading parallels the sermon. Children will sit with their families in the sanctuary when the service begins. After a couple of songs, children, ages 2-10, will be dismissed to attend children’s church.

Sermons at North Hills are taught exegetically (a critical explanation or analysis of the chosen text). We invite you to listen to a sermon to get a better idea of the preaching style. There is also a pastoral prayer and weekly communion. We hope this helps you feel a little less overwhelmed when looking for a new church as we recognize it is not an easy choice.

We hope this information helps you feel a little less overwhelmed when looking for a new church home as we recognize it is a very important decision.  Please feel free to view the following videos by Pastor Nic Wassell and feel free to visit our youtube channel for an idea of service liturgy.

A welcome message from Pastor Nic
