Great Commission Ministry Ethiopia

Great Commission Ministry Ethiopia is an interdenominational ministry committed to helping take the gospel of Jesus Christ to the people of Ethiopia. They cooperate with all born again Christians from churches of many denominations and hundreds of other Christian organizations in Ethiopia to help Christians grow in their faith and share the Gospel message with their villages. Working together with these fellow believers, their goal is to help give every man, woman, and child in the entire world have an opportunity to find new life in Jesus Christ.

In 2014 North Hills Christian Church had an opportunity to partner with GCME in the region of Eastern Ethiopia in teaching a conference that would help train pastors and church leaders in the areas of pastoral care, preaching, teaching, discipleship and evangelism. We have since found that these areas are precisely where we can continue to support GCM and their staff.

-Short term trips to help equip and train GCM staff and local church leaders.
-Building relationships of encouragement, support, and care.
-Communication of their needs physically and spiritually.
-Sending resources to help them learn to teach, preach, counsel, disciple, and reach their community.
-Financially supporting projects of charity, evangelism, and discipleship.

Ways you can get involved in prayer:

-Pray for the GCM staff to be encouraged as they grow and minister in a Muslim dominated area.
-Pray for a fruitful harvest as they share the gospel with surrounding villages.
-Pray for the completion of the Jesus Film (their primary means of evangelism).
-Pray for completion of the Scriptures in the various Oromo languages.
-Pray for funding as they seek to expand their facilities for local ministry.
-Pray for the neighboring city of Awade (pro. awe-wa-day) where militant Islam is rising.

Short-Term Missions

In addition to supporting a long-term worker in China, we are also committed to short term trips to support the work of our long term missionary and to learn more about the people we seek to reach. We also continue looking to serve the Lord through new opportunities such as teaching English, college campus ministry, traveling and Bible distribution.

On our last trip to China we stayed two weeks visiting and encouraging our long-term missionary, Haley. We visited some local friends to encourage them in their spiritual growth, and shared the gospel again with those who had heard but still are not believers in Christ. We also traveled through five different cities in the southern parts of the region where we prayed for clarity on which to "adopt" for future missions work. We are very excited for future work here, and desire to continue to train, send out, and support short-term and long-term workers.

Mexico 2016

Over Spring break of 2016, we sent a team to build a house in Mexico. Here is a montage of that trip: .
