Prayer Follow-Up

Dear church family,

Thank you to those who came last week to our church prayer! It was a great time of prayer and fellowship. For those who were not able to make it I wanted to fill you in on a little of what was shared so you can be praying with us in a few key areas.

We began our time together looking over Ephesians 3:20-21:
"Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen."

We are called to remember that God is capable of doing far beyond what we can imagine, by His power, and that His power is working in us now! God's desire is to glorify Himself through the church and through His Son Jesus Christ, and His power is at work accomplishing this goal. And so we began to pray how might God use North Hills Christian Church as a tool to glorify His great name. We then focused on 3 key areas and spent some time praying in these specific ways.

That over the next 5 years we would:
-raise up 4-5 elders
-raise up 4-5 small group leaders
-raise up 3-4 biblical counselors

The Elders feel very strongly that our first priority should be equipping the saints for service and leadership. We need to grow in our ability to shepherd our people so that we are prepared to grow, Lord willing. Numerical growth is not our goal, but rather if we are ministering God's Word to people, and if through that God chooses to add to our number, it is imperative we are able to care for everyone's needs and having enough Elders, Small Group Leaders, and Biblical Counselors is vital in this way.

Please pray for wisdom, discernment, and spiritual insight as we seek out people within our church body for equipping in this way, as well as pray for yourself as you consider what God might be calling you to do! Remember: God is able to do more than we can imagine, and considering how He might use NHCC as a place for Him to magnify His glory is especially exciting!
